About Us

We decided to form a collective of Doulas serving the Fraser Valley. We chose a name, created brochures, business cards, web site, t-shirts and began a referral line. Over the years we have worked hard within our community to raise awareness about Doula's. Such activities include: Doula Information Evenings, participating in the Welcome Wagon Baby Shower, attending various Childbirth related events, releasing articles in the newspaper, appearing on Shaw Cable's T.V. show "Studio Four", as well as fundraising events. Our Doulas work in hospitals from Chilliwack to Vancouver; also in your home if you are planning a homebirth.

Training & Education of Doulas

The members of the referral list of DoulaCare Servies have completed an approved training course, attend ongoing educational opportunities, have met the requirements of the referral service and have also read and agreed to the DoulaCare Standards of Practice & Code of Ethics. Many are childbirth Educators; many have given birth; many work in health-related fields, but all have a sincere interest and commitment to work with women and childbearing families.
